Curtains 'R' Us

I've just finished hanging curtains for smaller window in my living room.

Now my curtains match again..

Next step is a train ride to town for a bit of retail therapy and maybe a pint or three!!

Exhibit 'A'........

Well....here's my first attempt at altering curtains....guess I should have ironed them before hanging, but hey!..I never said I was perfect!!!

I'll try to do better next time...........promise..........

It's Sew Easy...

When I bought the curtains for my living room, I bought "Ready Made".......

I measured the width, then measured the drop, then bought a pair nearest the size I wanted.

The width was fine but they were too long, but I put them up anyway saying to myself,"It won't be too difficult to shorten them by a few inches".....yeah......right.......

So they stayed......and stayed......and stayed......until finally I decided to do something about them.

I bought a sewing machine!!!!

SWMBO had already offered to alter them for me, but me being me../i.e. stubborn...had to do this myself!!!

So, I bought a new set of curtains of the same measurements, and, armed with my new weapon, set about massacring them..

No-one was more surprised than me when I looked at the finished job.....perfect is too good a word to describe them.....cr*p would be more suitable......

However, they are now the correct width and length, and the stitching hardly shows, so when I get around to hanging them I might...just might...post a piccy or two, cos I know y'all like a good laugh now and then!!!
