So.... Interwebby broadbandy thingy is back up and running, but still slow.
I didn't rant at the engineer, after all, it ain't his fault. In fact we had a good chat about it and he enjoyed a wee dram!!!
ISP say they know about it and are planning upgrade to their servers!!
Upgrade was planned to start in March......then April........then May.......now pencilled in for June!!!
Not holdin my breath on that one!!!!
On a brighter note...weather has picked up... sunny....70/73......
Gonna get the grill out tomorrow and burn some Steaks, Burgers, Dogs and anything else I can cremate!!!
I've got Beck's in the fridge and a couple bottles wine, Beringer Zin and Spier Chenin Blanc/Sauvignon Blanc
I'll try to get some decent piccys for ya.
Been having speed problems with broadband. Should be getting up to 20Mbs, been getting 0.7Mbs.
Call ISP Support.
Your modem is fine, we'll tweak the settings from our end.
There, you should be getting around 20Mbs now.
WRONG!!!!!!!!!
Still getting between 0.5Mbs and 1.35Mbs.
OK, We'll send you a new modem.
Modem arrived, set it up at my end, rang support so they could validate it.
Ok, now turn on your computer, wait for modem to synchronise, then try internet.
Modem synchronised, opened Firefox, 404 Page cannot be found!!!!!
Typed different url, 404 page cannot be found.
Checked settings, IP address was 0.0.0.0
OK, We'll send engineer to check lines.
Can't send till Friday!!!!!
Switched on computer tonight (Thursday), woohoo, I have Internet again.
Ran speed test.............1.37Mbs.........
Engineer is due tomorrow around 4pm.
He is not going to be a happy man when I have finished with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's nice to have a day off!! No need to get up early, enjoy a lie in......NO!!!!
Awake at 04:30!!! Out of bed, shower, breakfast........Gardening???????
OK, so I'm awake ...may as well get out of bed and start the day...after shower & brekky, I decided to do a bit in the garden, since it hadn't started to rain yet....
dug out part of border, worked in 2 bags of topsoil and 1 bag of compost. border is now ready for planting, just need to decide what to plant.
I have a primrose in the other border which could be split into two plants, plus the other border needs completely digging out and the soil replacing since it has been rather neglected over the years.
Problem is , I have three rather nice rose trees there and I am reluctant to disturb them. I think I'll just move the primrose now it has finished flowering, and leave the rest of the border till around back end of September.
Had a small problem a few days ago...you see..I lost myself in a moment, then mislaid the moment.....
I've spent the last few days searching for myself.......looked in all the bars to no avail....was about to give up when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror!! The shock at what I saw made me decide to re-invent myself.
I am now a self-filling whisky glass!!!
Hic!! Cheers
