A Wee Dram or Three

Yardwork and Photos

It's been a nice day today, so when I got home from work I decided to do a bit of yardwork. I cut the grass and did a bit of weeding.

The Damson tree is just starting to show green leaf buds, the Pear tree has lost its blossom and is busy producing leaves.

Raspberries, Strawberries and Redcurrants are doing well, as are the Rose bushes, and Lavender.

The youngest of the two Apple trees which I grew from seed is outside and coming along nicely. The other is inside and growing well.

I've added some more photos to both albums, take a look!

That's about it for now, it's almost supper time.

Honeydo.....Honeydon't do.....

Friday was a great success...I managed most of the even numbers on the list!!!!

As for the rest, well, all I can say is "Never do today what you can put off till whenever!!"

However, some things just *need* doing, so laundry, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were done.

Since I was working Saturday, (Eleven hours!!), I decided to leave the living room till today.

Rain has put paid to any thought of yard work :)

So now I am enjoying a bottle of Chilean Syrah after devouring a 16oz peppered steak.

I'm still trying to work out how to import my posts from the previous site. I've been taking brain stimulants in the form of Laphroaig, Dalwhinnie and BruichLaddich, but they seem to be having the opposite effect!!

A Quiet Day

Yesterday passed just like I thought it would.  No mass celebrations, not much flag waving(although PM Gordon Brown did permit the flying of the Flag of St. George, alongside the Union Flag.) 

Unlike America, where almost all homes have a their Flag flying proudly, we British seem to reserve our Flag flying to sombre times, or State occasions like Royal Weddings.

Still, although I do not have the Flag of St. George, I did celebrate with a few wee drams.

No Holiday Yet....

Today, 23 April, is St. George's Day.

St. George, the Patron Saint of England.

It will pass quietly, just like any other day.

Most people won't even know about it!!

Well, be assured!!  *I* know about it and will raise a glass or four tonight after work.

First day back.....

Well, my first day back in work went rather well..Phoned my line manager to check on my next leave, 14 May, 5 days.......He's off sick and no-one in the office can sort leave as it is HIS job!!!!!

Just gonna sit tight and wait, if I don't hear anything by 11 May, then I guess I'll be on leave again!!!!

Business as Usual......Hopefully!!

Well...I'm about to start getting ready for my first day back at work.

Guess I'll find out if my leave was sanctioned!!

Might even find out about my next leave which I requested for 14 May...not holding my breath on that one!

Problems?? no, Challenges!!

Seems like the code supplied for importing is not quite correct. However, I shall persevere and rise to the challenge, even if it means re-typing ALL my posts on blogger!!!!
